THE RULES

 

Whilst it would be the aim to have an authentic Paga Tavern, the reality is this is not GOR this is earth

We are not Gorean born, but of Earth, and our baggage of responsibilities does not go away.

The law of the land is not in abeyance, and as on Gor where each city and state has their own,  so we have ours. NOTE. I have tried to make these following rules as generic as possible and offer them as a basis for anyone wishing to run such an event. If anyone has any helpful suggestions please contact me.

Non Negotiable Assumptions

The laws of :-

Assault

Rape

Brothel licensing

Liquor licensing

Occupational health and safety

 

all still apply. (The organizers (or whoever) are not going to put the premises at risk to salve others egos or perceived slights)

 

The duty of care is still in effect for insurance and the organizers honour.

 

Given the above, and after suggestions from William of DallasGor, who has had considerable experience in organizing regular nights at the “Blushing Kef”, I suggest the following rules to provide a Gorean environment, within an earth context.

 

GENERAL

1)                  Everyone is present at their own risk and responsibility

2)                  The Tavern Master’s word is law. There is no appeal from any decision he makes.

3)                  “First Sword” (ie Head of Security) is responsible for security and dispute resolution. His decisions are as though from the tavern master

 

SLAVES AND OTHER FEMALES

4)                  There shall be no slaves considered to be unowned. If a master has to leave without taking his slave, then whilst he is away the slave shall be given into the care of the Tavern master. All other masterless girls will be in the charge of the Tavern Master and will be present at least 30 minutes before the arrival of the free.

5)                  In the light of the assumptions above I suggest the following to protect the organizers, the kajiras and the masters from inappropriate disputes of a legal nature.

 

All slaves will be tagged and the flowing rules apply

White Tag.       Under full restriction. Look but don’t touch intimately

Yellow Tag.       Restricted. whatever is covered don’t touch .

Red Tag.           Minor restrictions. Touching allowed, but enquire and respect any of her masters restrictions before proceeding any further. The Free must respect these conventions for everyone’s safety.

 

6)                  No girl may be a red tag on her first visit. No unowned slave may be a red or yellow tag on their first visit.

7)                  All tavern slaves will be expected to provide some form of entertainment (Dance, music, etc)

8)                  Free women are neither encouraged or discouraged, but read the books and think!.( Nothing against them attending, but I look for some consensus and advice as to what protection they are afforded, as they are certainly away from their city and home stone. As a suggestion The Tavern master could be their protector for the duration of their stay. I also recognize it was very rare for a free woman to be in a tavern in any guise. Any suggestions?

CLOTHING

9)                  Slaves will be dressed as their master requires. Tavern slaves can expect to wear more skin than anything else, and very little of anything else.

10)              Free women (if allowed at all) had better be covered and veiled appropriately. This is a tavern, not a drawing room in polite society.

11)              A suggestion is to ask the participants to dress Gorean for the occasion. Costume can be supplied. This is a contentious issue as we are not on Gor, but it would tend to make it more of an occasion and mark our differences from the every day. Any comments in this area would be welcome.

COMBAT

12)              Only physical challenges under the supervision of “First Sword”  are allowed. A.M.C.A.  combat and safety rules will be enforced for blade bouts, (contact privately for these as they are off topic), and Greco-roman and celtic wrestling for any other physical bouts. All will be in the challenge circle in daylight. Any other are deemed a brawl and the participants required to leave.

SAFETY AND OTHER ISSUES

13)              The Kitchen is off limits. Any person in there is to be treated as totally free (even slaves and ALL will obey the chef. There are sharp things and hot things and it is an area for the expert only. THIS IS ABSOLUTE AND IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENT

14)              Any entertainers supplied by the organizers (eg dancers, musicians, demonstrators etc)are to be treated as free, and given full respect.

15)              House pets are sacrosanct ( does not include slaves)

16)              All bottles will be surrendered to the servery, and her masters drink delivered to the slave on request. This is to prevent a chance of broken glass interacting with bare feet. Appropriate drinking vessels will be supplied.

17)              No man may discipline a girl not his own. It is recognized that a girl may require to be disciplined, but we are not BDSM Whilst discipline is a plank of slavery,  attempt to use it sparingly. The tavern Master has an appropriate implement and governs its use within the tavern should discipline be needed. No other implement permitted in the tavern.

18)              To the slaves, be attentive. To the Free, enjoy and endeavour to bring a small piece of Gor to earth
